Vinyl

The last release of this month was a very small Vinyl collection. I think someone from the illustration team is sneaking around this blog or the Royalty club, as finally, they're bringing male outfits more often (even if it's one or two per release). Or maybe someone there has a male doll and is taking the opportunity to give him clothes.

The store gained one more floor with clothes inspired by 70's fashion. I still don't know how I feel about it; the only item that caught my attention was the orange platform, but I don't have the urge to buy them. As everyone's currently focused on tributes, the regular releases are somewhat out of the spotlight. Perhaps I can come back later to this collection and see if something else gets my interest to compose a look.

Maison Margiela Paris Tribute + Giveaway

This week started with a new Inspired by Maison Margiela Paris Tribute. The release was divided into two days; we got half of the collection on Monday (29) on the catalogue, and due to some technical issues, the other half of the collection and the store floors only came out today on Thursday (30).

The collection features three floors and two starcoins jewelry items, following the pattern of the previous two tributes of this season. The Margiela tribute also includes some male outfits - 3 in total-, with most of the items being male versions of the female items from the collection.

So far, it's my favorite tribute of the season. I noticed some people were expecting looks from the most recent Maison Margiela Artisanal 2024 Collection by John Galliano, but these expectations were too high considering they never bring the most recent collection to tribute stores. This is because it demands time to be made, and they probably had the collection for this tribute before the Margiela show, I say this based on the amont of pieces released in this collection.

This Maison Margiela release also includes a special offer item, buying any ss or sd pack you'll get this jacket for free, in male and female versions.

Royalty

The last release of this week is a pretty disappointing Royalty. They don't even pretend to have the will for new releases, as we can already see on the front page the brown dress that was released not long ago in The JetSet. They didn't even try to make it look like another version; the only difference between both is the price, and this "new" one doesn't come with the backpiece.

The positive point of this collection is that they've remembered that some males also pay to play and added two outfits for them, including the position to hold the Fendi bag in the 3rd mannequin on the 2nd floor. However, there's no indication of anything 'special' for a release exclusively for Royalty members.

Underneath Stardoll

Surfing in the tributes season wave, today's release is Underneath Stardoll, featuring intimate pieces from some famous fashion brands like Versace, Gucci, GCDS, etc.

The collection contains 17 pieces, with one of them being for males (the panties on the last mannequin). While I liked some of the bras, I'm not a big fan of this release. Instead of this big messy mix, I think they could have done a tribute to Savage Fenty, SKIMS, or maybe even Victoria's Secret, including the most iconic pieces and wings. However, they chose to go for a chaotic and basic approach.

Schiaparelli Tribute

For the second tribute of the season, we got an inspiration from Schiaparelli. It's a brand that you either love or hate; each piece is a statement, as if it's a piece of art made for wearing. In my case, I don't wear them often as I find them challenging to mix and match with other pieces, but I still buy some of them because they're so good to look at.

This tribute also has three floors, like the McQueen one, this time there are no male outfits, but I think they can make use of some of the big coats. It also brings two jewelry items available for starcoins, hope they keep this for the next tributes as well.

Epiphany x Valentino Zodiac Jewellery

Oops, it looks like someone forgot to post about it here in the vlog, and that someone was me. Sorry about that. However, to keep track of the releases in the blog, I'll go ahead and post it.

Last Friday, the release was the Valentino Zodiac jewelry for Aquarius. As an Aquarius, I must say it's a bit fugly! I ended up buying the silver version of the earring, but I don't think I'll be using it.

The real version of the necklace is also unattractive. I demand that they create a better icon for us Aquarians.

Stardoll Dresser Games #3

Hello, hello, dolls, welcome to our 3rd edition of Stardoll Dresser Games! It's that time of the month when you have fun and can win the OotM.

For this month, I prepared you a 7 errors game, where you'll have to compare two pictures of one of my rooms and find the 7 differences between them.

After finding all the differences, post the answers in the comments -you can save one of the images and use an editor to circle the items/spots you noticed that are differents or list them one by one in the comments -, the first commenter who find all the words right will win one of the january ootm complete outfit.

Minimalism

I guess Stardoll is trying to clean up their "decor inspirations" folders, as we just got another decor release today. This time it's Minimalism, and the items match the last Minimalism collection we had last year. It's as if they're attempting to decorate a complete home with the same aesthetic but releasing the items little by little.

The interior looks beautiful, and the furniture is well-made, but it gives me the impression that I've already seen something similar in the plaza. Perhaps it's because of the point I mentioned above about them releasing items with the same aesthetic and then introducing a kind of continuation later on.

The only item I bought was the painting since it's available for starcoins. I'm currently decorating my rooms, and I might purchase more items if I need to add details, such as a lamp, plants, or something to place on a table.

Alexander McQueen Tribute

Tribute season has finally started, and unlike the past two years, this time Stardoll's social media hasn't asked us which tributes we want to see this season. I hope the design team has chosen good names for it, especially since they've already started with McQueen.

The collection has 18 new outfits distributed across three floors. There are three male sets, a win for them as lately, it's very rare to see a male look in tribute stores (fingers crossed for more items for them in the next collection). Most of the female looks are dresses/gowns, they might not be versatile for those who likes to create a layered style, but they are great for those who like to showcase their collection in their suites.

We also have plenty of accessories, which is an amazing bonus. Another great news is that we have two jewelry items in this release available for starcoins.

Young Hollywood

As announced yesterday along with the top-up offer, today's release is Young Hollywood. The collection is composed of outfits from the Golden Globe 2024 awards and arrived very late, but still plenty of users were online waiting for it.

The new collection has 3 floors, containing 13 outfits, with only 2 of them for male dolls. When I say outfits, I mean dresses, as accessories, in general, are missing. There's only one pair of shoes for all female dresses that are showing the mannequin's feet. This time, male dolls won as theyr looks have a necklace, a keychain and two different pair of shoes.

The first item to sold out was JLo's pink dress, and it was the one with the most copies, as the Selena one has plenty of copies left.

Today, Stardoll advertised to us through a doll mail that we currently have a 50% more Stardollars offer valid until January 14th due to a new Young Hollywood release tomorrow.

It probably will be inspired by the Golden Globes that happened this past weekend, but I really thought that they would wait for the Critics Choice and Emmy awards to make a big release with the best outfits from all the three red carpets.

For me, the must have in this YH it the Natalie Portman Dior dress, even though I think they won't illustrate it as detailed as the real version.

Callie's Picks Decor

"Time to get some fresh air!" is the theme of the most recent Callies Picks Decor release. Please let me know if I'm wrong, but, for me, it doesn't seem like a good idea to go out on a snowy winter day to get fresh air outside. 

Also, having tons of furniture in the middle of the snow is a really dumb idea. However, I'll just focus on the fact that this is a game, and the furniture won't be affected by the climate.

The store has only one floor and features some winter-themed decor, including fur chairs (at this point, I'm tired of them, as we have had A LOT of those recently). Can't forget to mention the fact that the burning candle is being re-released in almost every CP Decor collection. 

A positive point is that the items are cheap (you'll spend 132sd to buy all items if you have the 10% discount), and we have 5 items in Superstarcoin, including an animated item.

Weekly Superstar Gift

Corrected: New week, new gift for SS dolls, and I hope they keep this way and don't forget to update these gifts like they used to, even if most of the time the item they pick is the ugliest in the collection, but anyway... 

This week, they're giving for free the Zipper boots from the latest Fever collection. If you liked it, it's your time to get it for free, you you don't claim it too, you never know if you'll need it someday.

Sweet Suites

Today we got the fist decor release of the year, it's a Sweet Suites collection. 

The collection has just few items but they managed to divide it in two floors, one living room and a bedroom.

I liked a lot some of the items, the Bonze Sculpture is really impressive and the Indoor Moss Garden also looks great, I'm a real plants and art decor holder in stardoll so these will be a good add to my collection, along with the Abstract Painting.

Fever

The last release of 2024 first week is Fever. Or maybe I got fever and i'm hallucinating with this collection.

It's been a long time since I've been unhappy with the Fever collection. I really miss when this store used to be released once a year in the summer with fresh and breezy clothes. Now, it has become a place where they drop leftovers from recent collections. This, for example, seems like those clothes could be in Runway or Wild Candy latest releases but were discarded at the last minute and then reused here because they had nothing more planned.

The team responsible for curating the stores has only one job and is doing it in the worst manner possible. Can't remember the last time I looked to a new release and thought in buy everything right away. Now, I see the new items and think, "Yes, some good stuff, but I can wait for a sale to get those."

FREE ITEMS - Christmas

Yesterday, we received some empty gift boxes in our rooms, but now they're available, and when you open them, you'll find some late Xmas gifts sent by Vulacano (not from his account ofc but from the Stardoll Admin). Yesterday, he mentioned on SDFB that he would send some gifts for compensation as the OotM was released late due to what happened, which I've mentioned in the last OotM post. Today, he posted again on SDFB that these were some late Christmas gifts for everyone.

Weekly Superstar Gift

As a way to say "sorry for the inconvenience" (?) this weekly gift to superstars and royalty dolls is the fishnet balaclava from the last Runway collection. In the store, the item is priced with a 45sd tag (41sd with royalty discount), and now you can have it for free. If you already bought it, you can also claim the gift and have two of them in your closet.

Outfit of the Month

The first OotM of 2024 was released under bad circumstances. Firstly, the game was down for almost 24 hours, and only a few dolls were able to log in. Secondly, the picking of one of the looks caused some annoyance in some players because the outfit was curated by a doll that was already chosen before. It's not stardoll if we don't have drama and bugs, right!?

This is the first 'collection' illustrated by Vulacano since his little break from designing. Besides the Valentino Zodiac collection, he wasn't creating anything more for Stardoll until this January OotM. 

The outfits he picked this time were assembled by the dolls Shima112 and Renachan. I bet the second name sounds familiar as she was picked as the November OotM as well.

This caused some drama over the SDFB as people were mad about a doll being picked two times, while there are lots of dolls that were never picked. According to Vulacano, he made the choice randomly as he had other outfit prepared but lost the files due to an error in Adobe Illustrator (which I believe is true because those programs love to close by themselves with no reasons when we need them the most). So, he had to pick something that was easy and fast to do (in 4 hours of work) and ended up not noticing that the doll who created the look was already picked before. Personally, I'd love to see different dolls picked for the OotM, but I can't complaim about this choice as I also love this Renachan idea and bought everything from her outfit, and from Shima112 as well, as I really liked both of them.

The first look is worth 153sd and the second is 103sd, with the royalty discount. The only jewelry piece is a necklace, and it only comes in the suite version. We can see this release was really rushed.

Pals

A great way to start the new year is with the very first collection featuring TikTok famous Pals, right? I really don't know what's happening with the Stardoll team for them to think this was a good idea...

Besides Khabe, Will Smith, and The Rock, I don't know any of these people, and I really don't understand why Will and The Rock are included in this row.
