STARDOLL HISTORY: Callie Con pt.I

STARDOLL HISTORY: Callie Con pt.I

It's been a few years now since the first edition of Callie Con back in 2018, but even today I still see some players asking, “What’s Callie Con?”. Since Lisa.Stardoll recently ask for suggestions for this year’s theme in the Stardoll Royalty club, I thought that, with the 2025 Callie Con approaching, it would be cool to have a little Stardoll history moment about this event.

For those who don’t know, Callie Con is Stardoll’s version of San Diego Comic-Con, one of the largest and most influential pop culture and geek events in the world. Originally created as a comic book convention, Comic-Con has grown into a huge event that brings together fans of movies, TV shows, anime, games, books, cosplay and more.

On Stardoll, Callie Con happens every August and follows a different pop culture theme each year. It usually includes themed store releases, competitions and even some Q&A moments with the Stardoll team.

As mentioned at the beginning of the text, the first edition of Callie Con happened in 2018. The event ran from August 7th to August 19th, and the theme was Superheroes.

During the two weeks of the event, activities included a Q&A with members of the Stardoll staff, an Other World release featuring superhero-inspired fashion (which is still available in Starplaza to this day, you can find it through the catalogue, fashion and decor competitions, and more,  including StarBlog posts and behind-the-scenes pictures from the Stardoll office.

The free gifts included a poster (available to everyone), belts (depending on your association level), as well as a mug, bag, event pass and cape (for those who made a Superstar purchase during the event).

For the 2nd edition in 2019, the theme was Adventure at Castle Stardoll. That year, the event took place in September, from the 23rd to the 29th.

The activities included another Q&A with Stardoll staff members, Stardesign and dress-up competitions and a Starblog post featuring an interview with one of the most famous Stardoll couples, Foula and Achileas (who have sadly broken up since then). There was also a Callie’s Picks-themed release, the collection Nº 116, titled World of Magic.

The free gifts for this edition included a poster, mug and bag (unlocked by participating in the event's activities), as well as a witch hat, wand and event pass. Everyone received the purple version of the set, while the gold and turquoise versions were distributed according to association levels: Superstars got the gold set and Royalties received all three.

There was also a Superstar special offer that included an exclusive top (which, to this day, remains one of the most sought-after items on Stardoll, unfortunately, it’s not sellable).

In 2020, Stardoll held the 3rd edition of Callie Con, and the chosen theme was Animes! That year, the event returned to August, running from August 3rd to August 14th.

The activities included the first edition of SNTHA (Stardoll’s Next Top Hair Artist) during the Callie Con, where participants received a Pokémon cap and the winners had the opportunity to unlock the coveted Dreams of Design achievement. The Q&A sessions, which from this year onward were called AMA (Ask Me Anything) panels, rewarded participants with a Death Note notebook. There was also a scavenger hunt with Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask costumes as prizes, fashion contests where winners earned a Naruto headband and a behind-the-scenes look on how the Stardoll team was working during the quarantine.

The theme related release we had during the event was a Sunny Bunny collection featuring anime style facial features (this one collection is also still available in Starplaza).

The free login gifts included a pass and a Pokéball: everyone received a pass with a purple holder and a red Pokéball. Superstars received an extra pass with a golden holder and a golden Pokéball, while Royalties got an additional pass with a blue holder and a blue Pokéball. Each Pokéball came in two versions, one for male dolls and one for female dolls, as they're hand placed.

Everyone could also claim a free mug and bag through the event page. As for the Superstar special offer, the free items included the four remaining Moon Scout outfits: Sailor Mars, Sailor Venus, Sailor Uranus and Sailor Jupiter.

For me, the 2020 Callie Con was one of the best as I was really excited about the Sailor Moon themed items!

That’s all for now, as this post is already quite long, but I’ll be back soon with the remaining years of Callie Con to keep sharing more pieces of Stardoll history, it’s always fun to look back. And thanks to the doll SweetKim that helped me with the pictures of the freebies of each edition!

From the three editions I mentioned here, did you take part in any of them? Do you still have the freebies they gave out during those events or did you skip claiming them?

Fantasy Hotels

Fantasy Hotels

This week's release started with a brand new Fantasy Hotels collection. This time, Stardoll took a different direction compared to recent releases, instead of recreating a famous themed hotel room, we now have a magical fantasy garden. The collection was entirely curated by Vulacano, who selected the perfect items to set the enchanting tone of this release.

I really liked how dreamlike this collection feels, it’s like stepping into an enchanted forest. I do miss the times when they used to create animated items, they would have been perfect here to add even more magic to the rooms, but sadly it's not possible anymore since the end of flash player. The three new floors are all woodland inspired, filled with pieces that have organic textures, mystical lighting and whimsical design choices.

The items are ideal for creating a fairy forest, especially with the inclusion of a small fairy house (one of the starcoin items in the collection, along with the fountain).

This Fantasy Hotels release is perfect for anyone who loves to create fairytale or magical themed decor. I’ll definitely be buying the entire collection to create a new room soon. What are your thoughts on it?

Mr.

Mr.

Stardoll started April with a new Mr. release! It's been over a year since we last saw an update in the one and only store dedicated exclusively to male dolls. The collection brings two new floors and maintains an urban, casual clothing style.

Personally, I didn’t love the color palette, it feels very black and lacking in variety. But honestly, I’m not sure what male dolls are into these days. That said, I do wish we could have a female version of the layered denims, because the phone in the pocket detail is really cute.

This release includes only two starcoin pieces: the pink shorts and the split striped denim shirt.

What are your thoughts on this release? For those who have male dolls, what kind of clothing would you like to see more of? And for those with female dolls, do you usually buy any of the male pieces to style or use in decor with the pals?

FREE ITEM - Ozzy Osbourne

FREE ITEM - Ozzy Osbourne

In memory of the recent passing of Ozzy Osbourne, legendary British singer, songwriter and frontman of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath, known as the Prince of Darkness and one of the most influential figures in rock history, Stardoll has paid tribute with a small gift to players.

On the seventh day after his passing, Stardoll sent out two tribute items: his iconic purple sunglasses (also available for beauty parlor) and the throne he used during the Back to the Beginning concert, which was Black Sabbath’s final show, held just days before the death of their lead singer.

A thoughtful and emotional gesture for fans of rock music. 🖤

Celeb Fit

Celeb Fit

As it's the last Wednesday of the month, today we got a new Celeb Fit release. For July, the chosen celebrities were Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, and Leomie Anderson.

The first outfit was worn by Christina Aguilera, a vintage Versace Fall 2003 dress that she wore at the Burlesque: The Musical London photocall on July 21. I really liked the dress itself, but the overall look felt too simple, just the dress and boots. I wish we had gotten something a bit more elaborate, but I understand why they went with this one, especially considering the illustrator only had a week to recreate it based on the event’s date.

The second outfit was inspired by Rihanna at the Dior Homme show in Paris on June 27. I absolutely love the number of accessories included in this look!

The final look is from Leomie Anderson, worn at Wimbledon on July 10. I enjoyed the Y2K vibes, but I can’t help noticing the leaf detail on the shoes... it honestly looks like something that would get removed by Stardoll if it had been made by a player due to design rules.

This time, we only got two starcoin pieces, the top and sunglasses from Rihanna’s look. The glasses are available for both suite and beauty parlor and the top is available to both male and female dolls.

Below, you can see the real life versions of the outfits:

Robert Wun Tribute

Robert Wun Tribute

The 5th and final tribute of the season has officially arrived. It dropped yesterday in Starplaza and, just as spoiled by the new brand tag added to Stardoll’s brand list over the weekend, it’s the Robert Wun Tribute.

This three floor collection brings the designer’s signature theatrical flair to Starplaza, with dramatic outfits full of unconventional shapes, structures and statement dresses. A good point is that some of the looks are offered as separate pieces, making them a bit more versatile.

Tbh, I wouldn’t have picked Robert Wun for the tribute season, his designs feel more suited to the Tingeling Couture Halloween collections, but I can’t say I hated it either. I’ll definitely be grabbing a few items to save for future Halloween outfits and decor.

With this drop, the tribute season comes to a close. The final special offer gift is also available now, so if you’ve purchased all the others so far, make sure to claim it to secure the mysterious gifts. For now, no one has received them yet, so we’re assuming the exclusive dress and interior will be delivered sometime next week after the promo ends.

Nelly.com

Nelly.com

Last week on Friday, to close out the week, we got a new Nelly release.

It brought two brand new floors featuring clothes from brands that are sold online at Nelly.com, as we’re used to seeing.

The collection features pieces with a casual boho style, continuing the summer aesthetic that has been dominating most of the recent releases. I’m glad nothing really caught my eye, so I could save more for the tributes. Still, I do think there are some good pieces here that could be used to create really cute outfits, but for now, I’ll wait for a 50% off sale to grab a few of them.

SPOILER: last tribute

SPOILER: last tribute
Today, a new logo was added to the brands list in Stardoll spoilers, the "Inspired by: Robert Wun" tribute logo, teasing the next and final tribute of the season, which will be released next Monday.

What are your thoughts on this choice? Which outfit from the designer would you like to see?

Ms.tQ

Ms.tQ

This wednesday’s release was a two floor Ms.tQ collection featuring summer themed items (at this point, I’m already tired of Ms.tQ and all the beach/summer collections).

It includes some jewelry, accessories and makeup pieces that match the summer beach vibe. This time, they even added a facial sunscreen and sunburn. While I think those pieces can be fun, and some people may enjoy the release for creating themed decor or outfits, I really hope the next stores explore a different theme. I’m definitely ready for something new. But I can't lie that I've bought the sc items available in the collection.

Acne Studios Tribute

Acne Studios Tribute

The 4th tribute of the season arrived last monday (July 21st) and brought an exciting surprise: for the first time ever, Acne Studios has received its very own Tribute collection on Stardoll!

While the brand had appeared on the game before, mainly through Antidote and Subcouture releases, it had never been featured in a full standalone store. Now, finally in the spotlight, Acne Studios brings a bold and conceptual selection of pieces straight from the runway. Some of the looks are inspired by the brand’s Spring/Summer 2025 and Fall/Winter 2026 collections.

With its signature deconstructed style, rich textures and unexpected color combinations, the collection is my fav (excluding the Tributes Gallery).

Here's a look in the special offer dress for the Acne Studios promotion:

And for those keeping up with this tribute season, only one more store is left, expected to drop next monday. Which one do you think it will be?

It Girls

It Girls

Last week, on Friday, we got a new It Girls release.

It was a smaller than-usual collection, with just a few accessories and some items that had already been released in the game under other brands — like the Stella Jean set from the first mannequin in the main window, which originally came out in the January 2020 Subcouture collection, for example. You can spot several re-designed/re-released pieces mixed in with the new ones.

Personally, I don’t think this was a strong It Girls drop, but I guess it’s understandable since we’re in the middle of tribute season and most of the focus probably goes to the tribute stores right now. That said, I do think some of these pieces might come in handy, I just haven’t figured out which ones yet, since I’m currently focused on getting the tribute items.

What did you think of the It Girls drop?

Golden Sands

Golden Sands

A new Golden Sands collection has just arrived this Wednesday.

Seems like summer is still in full swing on Stardoll and today's decor release enforced it. The Golden Sands collection just dropped, bringing a perfect beach getaway vibe. Whether you’re into sunset cocktails by the bar or cozy bonfires under the stars, this decor set has everything you need for a dreamy coastal escape.

The first floor sets the tone with a tropical bar setup, full of colorful drinks, string lights and tiki hut vibes. A table for two with fruity cocktails, hanging swings with pillows and beach signs (inspired by an actual sign found in one of the most famous turistic beach in Brazil I must say), and a blue float adding a playful touch.

On the second floor, the mood shifts to a more relaxed sunset ambiance. A sheer-curtained cabana invites you to lounge with a seating and candle-lit lanterns, while a beach umbrella and chairs offer the perfect setup to enjoy a bonfire. Details like dolphins jumping in the background and a rustic wooden boat really help bring the seaside fantasy to life.

The best part, are that the 3 starcoins items are pretty affordable and the sd pieces also have a good pricing.

If you’ve been looking to refresh your suite for summer, this Golden Sands release may have something for you.
