Weekly Superstar Gift

Weekly Superstar Gift

This week we had an early update to the weekly gift and this time we received the Ariana Butterfly Gown from last week’s Film Theory inspired by Wicked: For Good release. You can claim it for free on the Superstar page, as long as your Superstar or Royalty status is active.

The dress is inspired by a custom Robert Wun Couture piece.

Film Theory

Film Theory

This Wednesday’s release was a new Film Theory with a Wicked For Good themed collection, the third release inspired by Wicked since the first movie came out last year. I honestly hope this is the last one, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we also get a part II for this release.

The store has three new floors: the first two bring items that seem to be inspired by the movie characters costumes, while the last one contains looks worn by the cast during the movie premieres.

There’s also the inclusion of two new pals for the Wizard of Oz and Madame Morrible characters, along with other well known characters from Oz, like the Cowardly Lion and the Tin Man. The absence of the Scarecrow makes me think that it might be coming in another part of this release.

The Pals of Glinda, Elphaba and Fiyero are shown in the store, but they can’t be purchased from these new floors, only from the older ones.

Film Theory

Film Theory

Monday’s release came in time for those who want a pop culture costume for Halloween. Just like last year, we got a collection inspired by iconic characters from beloved 90s and 00s TV shows and movies,  but this time, it came under the Film Theory tag instead of Vinyl, which I think fits much better!

We can spot looks inspired by Cher and Dionne from Clueless, Samantha Jones and Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City, Elle Woods from Legally Blonde, Miranda and Andy from The Devil Wears Prada, Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen from Gossip Girl and Daphne Blake from Scooby-Doo: The Movie.

Also, shoutout to the 90s phone that comes in both black and white versions, such a cute and versatile accessory. I really loved this release! Ever since Cher’s yellow outfit came out last year, I’d been hoping for Dionne’s matching look, so it’s nice to finally have the “set” complete.

The starcoins items from the drop are the Serena White Shirt, Blair Brown Peep Toe Heels, Miranda Black Bag, Elle Pink Bunny Ears and Elle Hot Pink Tights. I’ve already grabbed them all, along with most of the other pieces.

Below you can see the real life versions of each look:

Did you like this release? Which outfits are your favorites? And which characters would you love to see in future ones?

Film Theory

Film Theory

Halloween has arrived early this year on Stardoll as September isn’t even over yet and we already got the first themed release of the season with a brand new Film Theory collection inspired by the Wednesday Netflix series.

The collection brings clothes and some decor pieces inspired by both seasons of the show. It was first suggested for Callie Con (where it didn’t win, ofc), but then it was brought up again as an option for Halloween and honestly, I think this was a better choice to fit the theme and cover everyone’s suggestions.

In this release, we can see Pals of the characters Enid (Emma Myers), Wednesday (Jenna Ortega, we already had one Pal of hers released before in the Pals store, now only available through the bazaar), Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Rosaline (Lady Gaga, who only made a 5sec cameo in the series). The outfits are based on the mentioned characters as well as Bianca, Agnes, Larissa and Pugsley for the male dolls.

There are three starcoin pieces in the store: the Nude Heels, Enid White Shirt (available for male and female) and the Black Dahlia.

What do you think about this release, it's a yay or nay for your Halloween decor?

Film Theory

Film Theory

To my surprise, today’s store release is a part II of last Friday’s Film Theory: Wicked collection.

There are two more floors available, but this time, the inspiration isn’t directly from the movie itself. Instead, it’s based on the outfits worn by Ariana Grande and Cintya Enviro during the film’s promotions.

Also there are three more decor pieces included. I’d say they probably saved these to release alongside this second part of the collection just to make it more "movie themed". Honestly, I think these outfits would have fit better in The JetSet store, similar to what they did last year with Margot Robbie’s outfits from the Barbie promotions, or maybe a Voile collection, as there's only gowns practicaly.

Film Theory

Film Theory

After numerous requests, Cosimo (aka Vulacano) released a new Film Theory collection today, inspired by the Wicked movie. According to information provided by him, everything in the collection was illustrated entirely by himself.

The store features two new floors: one inspired by Glinda and the other by Elphaba. The pals of Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo (in her green version), and Jonathan Bailey are also included in the store.

I’m not a big Wicked enthusiast, but the store offers some great pieces that can be used for regular decor. Some of the clothing items are also versatile enough to create looks unrelated to the movie theme.

Film Theory: Beetlejuice

Film Theory: Beetlejuice

Callie called his name three times, and he appeared in Starplaza today with the first (and hopefully not the last) Halloween themed collection of the month!

The collection features a mix of iconic outfits from Beetlejuice (1988), new costumes from its sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2004), and a look worn by Jenna Ortega while promoting the new movie. Even though her look alludes to one of the original film’s outfits, I feel it doesn’t quite fit here and would have been better suited for the Celeb Fit store.

The Fil Theory has added two new floors in this release. The interior design is inspired by the cemetery from the miniature model city where Beetlejuice resides. This collection also includes some decor items, and also features Delores and Beetlejuice as pals.
