Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and to celebrate this occasion, which isn’t just about love and romance but can also be sweet and dreamy or dramatic and bittersweet, we’re hosting a special dress-up contest! Show us both sides of the holiday by creating two outfits:

💖 The Sweet Side: Capture the magic of love with a look that’s romantic, soft, and charming. Think dreamy colors, elegant silhouettes, and heartwarming details. Whether it’s a fairytale date night or a fun Galentine’s celebration, make it sweet!

💔 The Sour Side: Not all love stories have a happy ending! Express heartbreak, mystery, or rebellion against romance in your second look. Dark tones, edgy styles, or even a dramatic “left at the altar” look, get creative with the other side of Valentine’s Day!

Rules:

• Show off your styling skills and embrace both the light and dark sides of this love-filled holiday by submiting two outfits: one representing the "sweet" side and one representing the "sour" side;
• Your look must follow the given theme;
• You can create the outfit in your suite, Starplaza or a scenery. You can also use another doll closet, as longas you have permission;
• Looks can be shown in the doll or in mannequims, as you prefer;
• Submit both outfits in the same comment, along with your doll's name;
• Don't forget to include hair and makeup that match the look, as it can enhance your outfit;
• Also, make sure both looks are cohesive!
• Winners will be choosed by our guest judges

The February looks for OotM have been released today, and I confess I was expecting something Valentine’s Day related. But I guess with a little creativity, we can make these fit the occasion.

The dolls who had their outfits picked this month are pem111 and saphyre., from what I remember, this is the first time both have been highlighted in the store.

Pem111’s look consists of six pieces, with only the fur jacket available for starcoins. There are no male versions of any of the items. As a whole, I didn’t personally love the combination, but as separate pieces, they look really good.

Saphyre’s look includes seven items. What I initially thought was a dress is actually a two-piece set with a top and an overskirt, making it very versatile. There are no starcoins or male items in this look. The rose jacket is the only piece I didn’t like from both sets, it looks like a mess in the shop window. Just like the outfit above, I also didn’t liked a lot the combination, but for sure will be using the separated pieces.

A new brand is making its debut in this tribute season, as today we just got the first Ann Demeulemeester inspired store on Stardoll.

For those who don’t know, Ann Demeulemeester is a Belgian fashion brand known for its dark, poetic, and avant-garde aesthetic. As one of the original Antwerp Six, Ann Demeulemeester gained recognition for her deconstructed tailoring, asymmetry, and gothic influences. The brand often features a monochrome palette, flowing silhouettes, and a mix of soft romanticism with edgy, rebellious elements. I really love when Stardoll brings us new tributes, so I’m happy to see this one. 

As usual, the store has three floors, and you can find two starcoins pieces on the second floor: the Square Neck Shirt and the Black Leather Long Gloves. A great aspect of this release is that the accessories (Body Chain, Black Lace Foulard and Tied Shirt Collar) are not attached to the main pieces, allowing for more mix and match options with the accessories.

This Friday brings us a new decor release from Sweet Suites.

The two new floors feature items inspired by Kylie Jenner’s glam room and living room. I love a good decor release, and this one definitely has some great pieces. But at this point, they might as well rename Sweet Suites to "Kardashian/Jenner Furniture Shop" given the number of releases inspired by each sister from this family in this particular store.

The January Celeb Fit is here, and this time, the featured celebs in the window are Taylor Swift, Elle Fanning, and Bella Hadid (once again).

Taylor's outfit was worn while watching her boyfriend game. Elle's look was from the National Board of Review Gala - I’m surprised they picked it since I was the first to suggest it in the Royalty Club. I must say, I only mentioned it because I liked the fur jacket, though the dress is also very cute. As for Bella, her outfit is from the most recent Miss Sixty campaign. Most people suggested other looks she wore in the same campaign, but for some reason, they went with this one. It’s still a great choice, as I really liked the collection and was hoping to see some of the pieces in-game. I’d say we might see more of it in upcoming releases!

We have some exciting news this tribute season! 

New tribute-related contests have appeared in the contest section, and the first one is a quiz, as you might have guessed from the post title. The quiz features questions about Dolce & Gabbana, the first tribute of the season that arrived in the plaza last week.

You have until February 4th to submit your answers. Some lucky players who answer correctly will win Stardollars. Here are the correct answers to help you out:

Prada is the second tribute of this season.

The collection includes three floors, each showcasing a different aesthetic of the brand. The first floor features more colorful and kitsch looks, the second offers more sober tones, and the third has a girly/preppy vibe. It's great that they managed to capture these different phases of the brand in one tribute.

There are two Starcoin pieces in the collection, both found on the last floor: the Pink PRADA Headband and the White PRADA Tank Top. My favorite pieces are definitely the accessories, especially the 3D Flower Handbag, available in three colors.

The special offer for this release is a bag, but I’m not too impressed with it, definitely not enough to renew my superstar membership or buy stardollars. For the second week in a row, I’m saving my money in the game. Hopefully, the next release will bring something exciting enough to tempt me!

To end the week, we had a new Active release featuring fashionable takes on sporty outfits, and I must say, I really like the direction they’re taking with this store.

Even though the release includes two new floors, there are only eight outfits, three of which have male versions. It was great to see pieces inspired by Dolce & Gabbana and Miu Miu, but my favorite has to be the Suki (Devon Aoki) outfit from 2 Fast 2 Furious. I've been asking for this outfit to be brought into the game for ages, so it’s exciting to finally see it.

Apparently, the collection was curated by Ben Rey (Laneki), but he only illustrated the D&G tennis outfit and the phone with headphones.

This winter tribute season has officially begun on Stardoll, and the first brand they paid homage to is Dolce & Gabbana.

The store features three new floors filled with glamorous pieces that truly embody the essence of D&G. However, there’s a downside: some items, such as the glasses and the cape from the special offer, have already been released in the game before. Even though they’ve been reillustrated, it would have been nice to see fresh, first-time pieces instead.

On the bright side, they’ve continued including starcoins items, which is always appreciated. On the second floor, we have the Black DG Tights, and on the third floor, there’s the Red Mini Purse, both great additions for those who don't have much stardollars.

As always, the collection has stirred up some discussions in the Royalty Club, regarding the interior being AI generated. However, this time, the interior design comes directly from a Dolce & Gabbana Casa ad, so any complaints would need to be directed to D&G themselves!

Overall, it’s a solid start to the tribute season, and I’m looking forward to seeing which other amazing brands will be featured in the next 3/4coming weeks.

This Friday's release is a new The JetSet collection, featuring some truly stunning and luxurious pieces.

The two new floors include items inspired by Versace, JPG, Fendi, Andersson Bell, Gucci, Stefan Cooke and Nina Ricci. This might be a hint at what we can expect for the upcoming tribute season, which starts next Monday (20th) - or perhaps not.

The entire collection was designed by Ben Rey, aka Laneki on Stardoll. I think he has been the best addition to the illustration team so far. Not only is he incredibly talented at illustrating, but the collections he brings are also very cohesive.
