This week I bring you: whimsigoth and you may ask what's that? Well dear reader whimsigoth is, according to the internet, "characterised by the rich, dark colours and drama of the gothic aesthetics, but mixed in with the greenery and airy embellishments of rustic styles, all tied together with a celestial-themed bow"
Basically it's like witchy decor with lots of plants, one example of whimsigoth is the iconic Sabrina the teenage witch that popularized all things celestial, earthy, and subversive which coincidentally we got a few Sabrina items in the latest Kitsch collection
Even though the dark colors still are a part of whimsigoth this time I went lighter with the wallpaper and used the lightest green shade in Stardesign which still don't know if it was a great choice or no
To do something different I did this kinda a-frame room with the Oak Plank from old DIY which combined with the Oak Floor from DIY gives us the earthy vibe perfect for whimsigoth
The furniture was important here I didn't want to put a couch or anything like that but I did want to add the Moon Cabinet from Kitsch because it's so cute and was my main inspiration for this room, so I ended up using the Swinging Chair from Fashion Furniture
To add that rustic characteristic Pretty in Love came in handy: the Rustic Kitchen Island instead of a kitchen island it ended as a desk with the Tarot deck from kitsch
Plants are always a must in any suite, in the Bookshelf Wooden from Basics Decor I made a combination of the Terracotta Pot from JetSet plus the Ivy from Kitsch to make my own hanging plant. In the corner the Big Fiddle Fig Tree from Sweet Suites is perfect to add greenery without using a lot of plants and once again the Palm Tree from Budding Love makes an appearance but to make it more interesting I put the Small Clay Pot from Giardini
In a way it's also giving boho vibes instead of whimsigoth but I did like how it turned out! What do you think? Let us now in the comments below 🔮
